Today, we are going to be talking about why we can’t help everyone, but how we are going to do our best to help as much as we can.
Here’s a story about why this topic came up. We had a patient come in yesterday who we see once every few months, whether it be for a slight back or neck issue. Last time we saw him, he tweaked his shoulder. We thought we got him fixed up but he came back again with the same exact shoulder problem, but this time it seemed much worse. The patient had a large bruise on their arm and the conclusion we came to is that it was most likely a bicep tendon tear with a rotator cuff tear. Now obviously this specific tear is an orthopedic job, and the patient may potentially need surgery to fix this.
Chronic Shoulder Pain Treatment in Myrtle Beach
Chronic shoulder pain is an issue we see often here with shoulder pain in Myrtle Beach. Today, we are going to talk about why shoulder pain occurs, what we can do about it, how you can feel better.
Why does chronic shoulder pain occur?
People who are very active, have physical jobs, and even aging, all has to do with the cause of shoulder pain. The shoulder is a very complex joint, and there are many different factors that can contribute to the pain. Let’s go over them: rotator cuff problems, arthritis, bursitis (fluid filled sac underneath the rotator cuff that gets inflamed), and imbalance of the supporting muscle ligature (the chest, back, trapezius muscles, deltoids and neck). Imbalance is often times a forgotten cause, but when you hold lots of tension in the shoulders, it causes all of the surrounding areas to change and tighten.
The shoulder joint is one of the most complex parts of the human frame. So much goes on and when pain is experienced, then identifying and helping it can be difficult. Certain issues like tears, the rotator cuff and frozen shoulder syndrome all present different approaches to how it is treated and what can be done. From a chiropractic perspective, we are seeing more and more patients coming in with shoulder pain. The reason may be due to chiropractic treatment being more readily known to be able to treat it or even the way we are in these modern times, ie work and lifestyle. At my 29588 chiropractor clinic, I have put together a video on my thoughts below and this blog post sums up the thoughts behind it.
Can slouching cause neck & shoulder pain is a question asked of me at my Myrtle Beach clinic often. While the easy answer is yes, it is very important to understand how and why this occurs.
There was a study in Sweden where patients were hooked up to various equipment such as EMGs, muscle testing equipment and so on. Simple exercises were performed by the group such as lifting the arm up and down. The group was made to perform this with good posture first and then again with poor posture.
